I keep making these felt tip drawings separate to my work just cause it feels nice to do. It started in a lecture where we instructed to doodle while learning about the psychology of desire.
I recently unearthed some old drawings from a derelict house that my boyfriends brother and his girlfriend have bought and kindly let me investigate. I want to present the drawings somehow as they are all amazing. This one made me very happy when I found it as I am fascinated by european folk traditions. This drawing of children dancing around a maypole shows how the previous house owner, Edward might have taken part in maypole dancing when it was still a popular seasonal tradition and part of school activities.
I love bunting because it symbolises celebration but at the same time it seems pointless and it annoys me…
